The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) normally reviews standards every 5 years to ensure they remain relevant to changing market requirements. ISO 9001:2015 is now published and available.
WHAT IS THE TRANSITION PERIOD?
23 September 2015 – ISO 9001:2015 standard developed
September 2016 – New certificates referencing ISO 9001:2008 could still be issued until September 2016
After September 2018, the old ISO 9001:2008 edition was withdrawn
September 2018 – Deadline for conformity with the new ISO 9001:2015 standard

- Policies and objectives aligned to the organisation’s strategies
- Risk-based thinking
Greater flexibility regarding documentation
